What in the world is a painted print?

So when I first started making prints I wasn't quite sure how to go about it. It has always been SUPER important to me to provide beautiful art to everyone who wants it, and make it available at a price that's affordable and accessible - but I also wanted each one to be special. I wanted each print to be just as beautiful as an original. This is a tall order! And required some problem solving.
Most artists just produce prints that are all exactly the same. But I don't agree with that, and it just didn't feel right: so I started painting each one.
Let's pull back the curtain, and take a look behind the scenes. That way you'll know exactly what arrives at your home, when you choose this option!

So, when I started offering prints, I decided to start doing something different. I paint each print one by one.
How this works: I have the print created, then I pull it into my studio and embellish and paint it in detail on my easel, so that it has a one-of-a-kind finish that is very similar to an original. That way, they look very much like the original work of art, while being offered at the friendlier price of a print.

I use charcoal, white and black acrylic paint, sumi ink and my favorite - gold leaf paint!

It’s a really fun option and creates a lot more depth in the piece, making the print unique. They also look completely different than the exact same one that someone else bought! Because neither is ever exactly the same!

I don't know about you, but this feels so much more authentic to me and creates a work of art unlike any other - something you can proudly hang on your wall.
These days, having your print painted is a choice you make at checkout. Just click the square box that corresponds to the one you are buying and we'll take care of the rest.
I can't wait to get yours ready for you! Thank you for being a part of the art!
