The Magic and the Mess - July
Hi!
Welcome to a new note from me! The Magic and the Mess - because... what about art and motherhood isn’t both magical and messy. From here we grow, and from here we create the most beautiful masterworks both in art and in life.
Accordingly - there are so many lovely, sweet things I want to share with you from to from our lives. and so, I thought I’d start sending out an email once a month with a few of my favorites.
In these emails I’ll include updates on our lives and the babies of course too.
So check out below - there is a list of favorites. And a sneak peak into an incredible trip we will be taking in one weeks time.
Warmly, B
Check out how much he has grown!
I keep looking around the house for my toddler only to find him tucked quietly in my art studio working away. He loves to paint and will ask "Mommy, want to paint with me?"
- I am in love with these star lanterns from Ikea and Amazon and have them hanging in both our kids room and the window that faces the street. They are so dreamy and welcoming.
- Ever searched for the perfect leggings? Costco carries them (but ran out agh) so I found them here
- I have become absolutely ruthless in my toy removal and donation - if it's plastic, it goes away. I know, I know, how dare I? lol :) Well, my toddler has become so much more involved in being helpful, painting, and playing with his sister, that it is clear it was a good move. Not to mention, clean up is so much simpler. Need more info on this idea? Check out one of my favorite books.
- I have been very unsure how to access my creativity while being a new mom. It is hard to find the space and the energy, so I have started painting in the fringes of my life. I.e. when they nap in the car, or I have a minute after bed time. I also started painting while on the go on play dates with friends at the beach and my friends and kiddos love it. My kiddo loves it so much, I had to get him his own painting set.
We're headed back to Montana at the end of this month!
For those of you who know, Montana is my heart place.
I got to go there for the first time when I was 19 - and could feel my heart sing. Since then have been back almost every other year and now I get to take my husband and babies there (pinch me!). We'll be staying at a farm with horses, donkeys and so many other farm animals. Check back for more photos soon.
Here's a pic from our last baby-free backpacking trip in Yellowstone a few years ago.
